We give in to kids not because we are good parents, but because we are lazy parents…

sin of presumption
But if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbor, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die. Exodus 21:14
If a man wanted mercy, he would grab the horns of the altar. In this case, someone murders another with premeditation thinking “I can get away with this if I grab the horns of the altar”. God says to remove him from the altar and kill him, he gets no mercy.
This is no different than someone thinking “I can get away with this sin, as long as I ask forgiveness afterwards”.
Contrast premeditated, arrogant rebellion with someone who is not acting in rebellion but instead out of weakness, mistakenly, unintentional, or in ignorance… It is no less a sin, but mercy can be accorded in this case…
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them Leviticus 4:2
Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. Psalm 19:12
There is no offering or sacrifice for the presumptuous, willful sin:
But the soul that doeth ought presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Because he hath despised the word of the LORD, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him. Numbers 15:30-40
Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Romans 3:20
Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. Psalm 19:13
I will stir up the Medes against them
“I will stir up the Medes against them” (Isa. 13:17)
complicit
and all that in them is
For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is Exodus 20:11
So heaven, earth, and sea were created in six days…
Also everything in heaven, earth and the sea was created in six days…
So… no gap theory, no millions of years, no day-age, no evolution…

lust
People reject God’s word because of their lust
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
“willingly ignorant” = dumb on purpose

The Poison of Calvinism
The poison of Calvinism, Reformed Theology, and Covenant Theology has been creeping into so many churches. Be wary of anyone that uses terms such as historic Christianity or traditional Christianity. Also, while a systematic theology is a good thing, many people will claim that the only valid Systematic Theology is the one that is based on Calvinism.
A perfect example of the fruit of Calvinism is John Calvin’s theocratic government which burnt at the stake those they considered to be heretics (those who criticized Calvin’s theology).
Even in the last 100 years we saw Hitler use Luther’s anti-semitism and the state-sponsored Lutheran Church to justify the theft of the property of Jews, rounding them up into ghettos, transporting them to concentration camps and the ultimate solution of industrialized mass murder.
freedom from sin
While in bondage to sin, we are a slave to the appetites of the flesh. We cannot free ourselves from the flesh on our own. The best perhaps we could do is replace one fleshly habit with another more socially acceptable one.
For true freedom, we must be reborn as a new creature and set free from sin by repentance and receiving the completed work of redemption Jesus purchased for us on the cross.
We are set free and are then able to master the appetites of the flesh by walking in the power of the Holy Spirit.
