When the wicked prevail

And when the people were come into the camp, the elders of Israel said, Wherefore hath the Lord smitten us to day before the Philistines? Let us fetch the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of Shiloh unto us, that, when it cometh among us, it may save us out of the hand of our enemies.  So the people sent to Shiloh, that they might bring from thence the ark of the covenant of the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth between the cherubims: and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.  And when the ark of the covenant of the Lord came into the camp, all Israel shouted with a great shout, so that the earth rang again… And the Philistines fought, and Israel was smitten, and they fled every man into his tent: and there was a very great slaughter; for there fell of Israel thirty thousand footmen… And the ark of God was taken; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were slain.

I Sam. 4:3-5, 10, 11 KJB

The people of Israel rallied around the Ark of the Covenant, believing that God was with them in their fight against the Philistines. However, they were presumptuous.

They followed God with their mouths, but not with their hearts.

Immorality had crept into their hearts and was reflected in their religious leaders who were either blind like Eli (1 Sam 4:14), or immoral and stealing from the people like Hophni and Phinehas (1 Sam 2:12-17,22).

Even from his mother’s womb

In Luke 1:15 we find that John the Baptist was filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.

For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.

Luke 1:15 KJB

The implication of life in the womb is offensive to those who want to murder children in the womb. To accommodate this, many new age bibles change “he shall be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb” to either downplay the womb by saying “before his birth” or completely change the meaning, timing, and significance by saying “from his birth”.

This Scripture stops bleeding anywhere in your body or head

Missionaries know well about this scripture. You keep speaking it over the person who is bleeding and it will stop the it.

And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live.

Ezekiel 16:6

The Cornerstone

What matters is your starting point …

It does not matter how intelligent, how educated, how well-informed, how woke, or how sound your reasoning is, if your starting place is wrong, you will end up in the wrong place every time.

The cornerstone is the first stone set in the construction of a masonry foundation. All other stones will be set in reference to this stone, thus determining the position of the entire structure.

If the cornerstone is wrong, the entire structure will be wrong, no matter how well constructed the rest of the structure is.

Build your reasoning and all things on the Chief Cornerstone, the Lord Jesus Christ.

and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; – Ephesians 2:20

Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. 1 Peter 2:6

he stumbleth, because there is no light in him

Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world. But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him

John 11:9

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

Mt 6:22-23

I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

John 9:4-5

Pikuach Nefesh

pikuach nefesh – saving a life

The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering? And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

Luke 13:15-16

and answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day?

Luke 14:5

Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the LORD.

Lev 18:5

And I gave them my statutes, and shewed them my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them

Ezek 20:11

“he shall live in them” implies that the law is followed for life, and not death. That following the law should not be at expense of life (result in death). Note that the life being saved is specific and identifiable (not general or conceptual) and must be done straightway (cannot wait for next day).

A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel

Prov 12:10

Taking care of your livestock is the action of a righteous man, how much more so is the taking care of your family and neighbor.
