dry seasons

Sometimes we go through dry seasons, though these are often times of growth. Often a tree appears dormant, but it is just putting down deeper roots.

Continue in prayer and bible study, trust that He keeps His word and never leaves you.

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Heb 13:5

the law

Law can be grouped into moral law, ceremonial law, dietary law. Jesus fulfilled all the law. We are not saved or stay saved by keeping the law.

Instead we are born again a new creature in Christ. The result of that is we love God and others and our new nature is to live out the moral law driven by love not by religious requirement.

For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself

Gal 5:14

Godhead

We would all fair far better to stop using the pagan term “trinity” and trying to explain the Godhead with sophistry rather than scripture.

Godhead defined:

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

1 John 5:7

We should not try and make our own “image” (product of our imagination) of the Godhead

Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.

Acts 17:29

A BC Septuagint?

What evidence is there:

  1. for a B.C. Septuagint?
  2. that a B.C. Septuagint was widely accepted and used?
  3. that B.C. Septuagint was commonly accepted and used by Jews?
  4. that Jews would adopt pagan greek (used for commerce) for their religious studies and practices?
  5. that if there was a septuagint as described in pseudepigrapha letter of Aristeas, that it was more than the Pentateuch?

Also:

  1. Of the many variants of so-called septuagints, which is the authentic one?
  2. Of the so-called septuagint texts we have today, which one is based on mss that are older than codexes Alexandrinus, Vaticanus, and Sinaiticus?

Read, believe, do

Instead of looking for what we can get away with, why not just read the bible, believe it, and do it?

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

2 Tim 3:16-17

Belief in evolution among Christians

According to a study by the Pew Research Center, 81% of US adults believe that humans have evolved over time. This percentage is divided between 33% who say that humans evolved without the intervention of God through natural selection. 48% believed that humans evolved through God guided processes. Only 18% reject evolution entirely.

Should we really be surprised by these numbers when the previous generation of bible correctors have destroyed trust in the preservation, inerrancy, and authority of scripture?
